The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) OF WASHOE COUNTY, NEVADA, an integrated transportation agency that serves as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), transit authority, and street and highway construction agency invites applications for the position of using the following link to the RTC employment application: https://rtcwashoe.com/news/careers/application-form/.  Incomplete submissions will not be accepted.

Under general supervision, the incumbent, reporting to the Financial Manager, will perform a variety of increasingly complex accounting and statistical analysis functions in the maintenance of financial, technical, and accounting records for the RTC.  The incumbent will perform a variety of technical tasks relative to the assigned areas of responsibility. The successful candidate will enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams and possess strong communication skills and presentation skills.

Duties may include:  performing highest level accounting and financial activities, including federal project tracking and reimbursement, operating and capital budgets, general ledger and sub-ledgers, fixed asset control, and financial and statistical forecasts; review of financial processes and procedures to comply with state and federal laws and regulations including safeguarding RTC assets; assisting with the external financial and compliance audit by preparing reports and conducting statistical analysis; assisting with the production of the agency’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report; monitoring annual budget and tracking adherence to approved budget; and maintaining financial information system database by preparing accounting, technical, and cost allocation reports and models, and making journal entries.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Six (6) years of applicable experience, Associate’s or above degree; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Registration as a Certified Public Accountant with the State of Nevada and experience in a public agency setting is preferred.
