Fiscal Officer

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting a Fiscal Officer for Research & Innovation (R&I). The Fiscal Officer is responsible for fiscal oversight for Research & Innovation across all funding sources. This includes budget planning, fund allocation, expenditure tracking, financial reporting, preparing, monitoring, and amending budgets in alignment with policies and award restrictions. They will provide guidance to managers on account requests, accounting services and grant management for specified programs. This position will be responsible for grant and fund management, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, conducting financial analyses and providing reports to aid decision-making processes. The Fiscal Officer will identify opportunities for cost optimization and resource allocation while maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and performing reconciliations in accordance with University policies. The Fiscal Officer will collaborate with department heads, principal investigators, and other stakeholders to ensure proper budgetary planning and financial execution of research projects, while ensure compliance with fiscal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements at both the University and sponsor levels.
