Candance Carlyon, Partner, Carlyon Cica Chtd.
Candace Carlyon has over three decades of legal experience, including representation of a myriad of constituencies in commercial reorganization and credit restructuring matters. Candace is a tenacious litigator, representing clients in complex commercial litigation matters, including fraud, contract, deficiency, business disputes and receiverships. She also conducts mediations and serves as a pro tempore short trial judge for the Eighth Judicial District Court. She has been certified as a Commercial Bankruptcy Specialist by the American Board of Certification of Bankruptcy and Commercial Rights Specialists since 1994 and is a past president of that organization. She has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America since 1996, and has held an A-V rating, the highest available, since 1989.
Dawn Cica, Partner, Carlyon Cica Chtd.
Dawn M. Cica is a partner with Carlyon Cica Chtd. in Las Vegas and has over 30 years of experience working on transactions of all types, both in and out of bankruptcy. She began her practice with mergers and acquisitions and public finance for an international law firm. When she came back to her hometown of Las Vegas she extended her transactional background into the gaming industry. Ms. Cica was the general counsel for the owner with respect to the redevelopment of the Aladdin Resort (now Planet Hollywood) and the development of a master planned community and golf course in Las Vegas. Her transactional experience since extends to the complex details surrounding the commercial bankruptcy and restructuring fields. Based on her extensive background and experience in commercial finance Ms. Cica was inducted as a fellow in the American College of Commercial Finance Attorneys. In addition to her practice related to restructuring and the purchase and sale of distressed debt, she has also participated in bankruptcies in California and New York where she is also licensed. Ms. Cica received her B.S. and M.B.A in finance from the University of Nevada, Reno and her J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where she was a member of the UCLA Law Review and participated in a moot court. Ms. Cica is also a director for the American Bankruptcy Institute.
