On August 22, 2012 over 50 NVCPA members and UNR students enjoyed a cool breeze, good food and great company at the 6th Annual Reno Summer Social Picnic. The event was held in the Peavine Pavilion at Rancho San Rafael in Reno, NV and catered by Port of Subs.
Ludmila Smith, Reno Chapter President, introduced herself to attendees in a speech in which she also welcomed the students (sponsored by Ron Zideck), members and new members. During her speech Smith gave a breif history of the picnic and it’s purpose to allow members to meet in a less formal atmosphere, enjoying the end of summer, and easing them back into meetings.
The picnic offered students a discounted membership rate and Smith encouraged them to attend as many meetings as possible. Smith put a sense of reality on the offer when saying the students would soon be entering the professional world and this opportunity allowed them to meet people who might be their future coworkers and employers.
