AICPA Registration Discount

You must put your AICPA member number on your registration form to qualify for this discount. AICPA members who register for an AICPA/NVCPA sponsored program will receive a $30 per day discount off the applicable course fee. This fee is applicable to all AICPA classes with the exception of Staff Training courses and the ABV Exam Review course and all 4-hour courses. This discount is available until the date of the course and cannot be applied retroactively.

Course Confirmation

A course confirmation will be emailed within 24 hours of registration made via phone, fax or email (all online registrations are sent a confirmation automatically). Should the NVCPA not have a valid e-mail address the confirmation will be mailed. If registration is received within 24 hours of a course a confirmation will not be sent unless requested.

Occasionally there may be a date or location change and the Society office will notify you immediately.

If you have questions about your registration status, please email Kary Arnold, CPE Manager, at karnold@nevadacpa.org or call 775-826-6800 or toll-free at 800-554-8254.

Seminar/Class Time

For full-day courses, a one-hour lunch break is usually provided around 12:00 p.m.

Sold-Out Classes

Sometimes a class will be "sold-out" with respect to course material, but there will still be space available for attendees in the classroom. You will be notified that there is no course material for the class, but you will be allowed to attend the program and receive your materials shortly after the class. Participants who attend in this manner will receive course materials at the earliest possible date following the program. Should there be a cancellation or a no-show, you will receive material during the class.

CPE Credit Information

CPE credit forms are distributed at the completion of each course. If it is necessary to leave a course early, notify the Society or the course instructor. It is permissible to claim less than the total number of credit hours offered by a course.

How Courses are Approved for CPE Credit

The Nevada State Board of Accountancy rules stipulate that a course must increase the professional competency in order for a CPA to receive credit. The CPA must make this determination. The NVCPA is not the regulatory body that sets the rules. The Nevada State Board of Accountancy does not pre-approve any providers or courses for continuing professional education. The responsibility for determining if the course meets the requirements of Continuing Professional Education (Requirements, Programs which qualify, Controls and Reporting and Calculation of Hours of Credit) rests solely upon the provider and the licensee. Board Rules are available at http://www.nvaccountancy.com/education.fx

Attendees who have a comment or complaint regarding any program offered by NVCPA are directed to the CPE Manager, Kary Arnold, karnold@nevadacpa.org or 775-826-6800.  Refunds or transfer of registration into another class is handled on a case by case basis.
