Karen Hawkins, Director, IRS Office of Professional Responsibility
Hawkins has been an attorney with the tax law firm Taggart & Hawkins in Oakland, California for 25 years. She received her J.D. and M.B.A.--Taxation degrees from Golden Gate University in San Francisco and has been a member of the California Bar for 30 years. She was scheduled to become chair of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation in August before accepting her appointment as Director of the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility.
