Sheri Bango Cavaney, CAE
Vice President - Practice Mobility and State Regulatory & Legislative Affairs

Sheri Bango Cavaney is Vice President of Practice Mobility & State Regulatory & Legislative Affairs for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).  In this position, she has responsibility for state legislative and regulatory relations for the AICPA and directs the efforts of the team that provides assistance to State CPA Societies on issues affecting the accounting profession at the state level, including leading the effort on the CPA mobility project.  In this capacity she also works closely with State Boards of Accountancy.  She has worked with the AICPA since 1991.

Prior to joining the AICPA, she was Vice-President of Government Affairs for a regional Chamber of Commerce.  Previously she served as the Deputy Administrative Assistant to former U.S. Senator Alan J. Dixon (Illinois) in his Capitol Hill office. 

Ms. Bango Cavaney holds a B.A. in Politics and Government from Ohio Wesleyan University and is a graduate of the Institutes for Organization Management at the University of Notre Dame. 

An active member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), she is also past-Chair of the ASAE Government Relations Section Council.

A native of Illinois, she works out of the AICPA Washington, DC office and resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
